How it works
Built for DTF failure modes, not generic preflight.
Upload your artwork, enter the size you plan to print at, and it checks that against what your file can actually support. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server.
Scan
Checks for missing transparency, background contamination, low resolution for your print size, stray pixels, and fragile thin details.
Fix
Applies only safe, non-destructive corrections automatically — background removal, edge cleanup, stray-pixel removal, PNG conversion.
Flag
Anything that would change your design — thin lines, detached elements, baked-in compression artifacts — gets explained in plain language instead of silently fixed or ignored.
DTF Preflight Check is a free, browser-only tool built for DTF printers, print shops and apparel decorators preparing artwork for direct-to-film transfer. It supports PNG and JPG uploads up to 7200 × 7200 pixels, and every check and correction runs locally — nothing is ever uploaded.
FAQ
Preflight check questions, answered.
What is DTF Preflight Check?
A free tool that scans DTF (direct-to-film) transfer artwork for the specific problems that cause bad prints — missing transparency, low resolution for the intended size, stray pixels, and edge halos — then applies safe automatic fixes and hands back a corrected PNG.
Is my artwork uploaded anywhere?
No. The scan and every correction run entirely in your browser using Canvas — your file never leaves your device, and there's no account or install required.
What does it fix automatically?
Only safe, non-destructive corrections: removing a detected background, cleaning up edge halos and stray pixels, snapping alpha transparency to clean values, and converting the output to PNG. It never redraws, recolors, or rebuilds any part of your design.
What does it flag instead of fixing?
Anything that would change your design — thin lines or small detached elements that might not survive weeding and pressing, resolution too low for your intended print size, and JPEG compression artifacts already baked into the source file. These get a plain-language explanation so you can decide what to do.
What file types are supported?
PNG and JPG/JPEG, up to 40MB and 7200 × 7200 pixels (about 24 inches square at 300 DPI).
Is it free?
Yes, completely free, with no login and no limit on how many files you check.
